Play More, Wait Less: Why Daytime Is the Best Time to Play at Peak Time

November 1, 2026

Some of the best pickleball in Charlotte happens while most people are at work. If your schedule has room before 5:30 PM on weekdays, whether you work remotely, have flexible hours, are retired or simply like an early start, Peak Time Pickleball has a whole daytime lineup built for you. Here’s what’s on offer and why daytime might become your favorite time to play.

Why play during the day?

  • Easier to get a court. Evenings and weekends fill up fast. During weekday hours you’ll find more open courts and more open spots in sessions, so you can spend less time hunting for a booking and more time playing.
  • Better rates. Many daytime Open Play sessions are just $10, and Peak Day members reserve courts for only $20 per hour on weekdays before 5:30 PM.
  • A relaxed pace. Daytime sessions have a friendly, social feel, with plenty of time to warm up, play and stick around for one more game.

Meet Peak Day: our membership for daytime players

The Peak Day membership is designed for players who love to play during the day. For $55 per month, you get:

  • Unlimited free Open Play on weekdays from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
  • Court reservations for $20/hr on weekdays before 5:30 PM ($25/hr on the Championship Court)
  • Open Play for $10 per session on weekday evenings and weekends
  • Court reservations for $30/hr on weekday evenings and weekends ($40/hr on the Championship Court)
  • Gym and sauna access
  • Book courts up to 14 days in advance, reserve up to 2 courts per day, and cancel up to 12 hours ahead without penalty

For comparison, non-members pay $15 per Open Play session and $40 per hour for court reservations. If you play a few weekday sessions a month, Peak Day can pay for itself quickly. See Peak Day and all membership options.

Daytime Open Play

Our weekday Open Play schedule runs from 7:00 AM through the afternoon, with sessions for every level: early-morning games and drills, mid-morning and lunchtime sessions, afternoon play for beginners through advanced players, and community sessions for groups like women’s and 50+ players. Many daytime sessions are just $10, and Peak Day members play free on weekdays before 5:30 PM.

Session times and formats change from week to week, so check the live schedule on CourtReserve for what’s coming up.

Daytime clinics and coaching

Weekdays are also when most of our clinics run, so it’s the perfect time to work on your game:

  • Drilling & Training with coaches Julie Smith and Kramer Sneed: level-based, 90-minute sessions for 2.75 through 4.0+ players, Monday through Friday.
  • Drill & Play with Elisha and 3 & Me with Coach Elisha: small-group and semi-private coaching with coach Elisha Turner.
  • Dinkademics, an independent instruction program that hosts early-morning drill-and-play sessions at Peak Time on Thursdays and Fridays.

More than pickleball

Make a morning of it. Our fitness center, recovery saunas and daytime Pilates classes make it easy to train, play and recharge in one visit.
