Peak Time Pickleball to Host PPA Challenger Tournament in Charlotte

May 5, 2026

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Tournament brings PPA Tour pathway to Charlotte’s largest indoor pickleball facility

Charlotte, NC — May 3, 2026 — Peak Time Pickleball, the Carolinas’ premier indoor pickleball facility, has officially signed an agreement with the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) to host a PPA Challenger Tournament September 25–27, marking the first PPA Challenger event held in Charlotte.

The Challenger Series is PPA’s development tier, where aspiring professional players compete for ranking points, prize money, and a path to the PPA Tour. Top performers earn entry into the PPA Challenger Showdown in Dallas, where a PPA Tour contract is on the line.

Peak Time is partnering with the City of Charlotte to support the event, reflecting the city’s growing investment in pickleball as both a community sport and an economic driver.

Why Peak Time?

Peak Time Pickleball was selected as the host venue for its scale, quality, and vision for the sport. The 78,000-square-foot, climate-controlled facility features 19 indoor courts including a championship court built to professional standards, making it the largest indoor pickleball venue in the Carolinas.

More than just a venue, Peak Time is designed as a complete pickleball ecosystem, combining high-performance training, structured programming, and a hospitality-driven experience. With amenities including a performance training center, recovery zone, and spectator-friendly layout, the facility is uniquely equipped to host competitive tournaments.

“Hosting a PPA Challenger Tournament is a meaningful step for Charlotte’s pickleball community. Peak Time was built to be a home for players of all levels, and bringing PPA-sanctioned competition to our courts is exactly the kind of opportunity we want to keep creating.”

— Michael Wang, Owner Group of Peak Time Pickleball

A Catalyst for Growth

The PPA Challenger Tournament is expected to attract competitive regional and national players, along with spectators, sponsors, and media attention. The event will generate increased local activity and broader exposure for Charlotte’s pickleball scene.

For Peak Time, the tournament reinforces its mission to be a premier destination for the sport in the Southeast.

“This is a great moment for our community. The Challenger Series is where the next generation of pros sharpens their game, and we’re proud to host them in Charlotte.”

— Justin DeBron, GM of Peak Time
